Van Haegenborgh draws using metal. He welds steel profile and steel plating into a three-dimensional sculpture. The tools used, are those of the blacksmith: the hammer, the anvil, the forge, welding equipment, grinding equipment and the blowtorch. Sculptures, meant to be placed outside are constructed using copper or thermal galvanized steel.
The forged sculptures of VH depict the skeletons of animals and human beings in a play of lines which illustrates the entire being of the artist's subjects.
